An Apology

To my friends,

My comments on "Multimedia of the Mind" about Christmas and Christians were offensive and I am very sorry.

I want to apologize to all the people who read my mean-spirited comments. Although I was actually trying to be funny and sarcastic, I ended up disappointing people whose opinion of me I care about very much.

I want everyone to understand that those comments reflected a moment of poor judgment, and not my true opinions. Once again, I am very sorry.

Sincerely,
Sam

is it bad that i laughed when i read this? I mean, not that you didn't sound very sincere, but i'm not used to sincerity (sp?) coming from you. No offense or anything...okay this is going in a downward spiral so i'm just going to stop now.

I just wanted to say that I am really impressed at the way everyone handled this. People who were offended said so, but politely, and accepted the given apology (which was also done quite nicely) immediately and with a lot of poise. This episode has shown many of the problems with blogging, and the full capacity for damage that this media holds, but I think it also shows the power of the tool when used responsibly.

Nice job, guys.

I second what Rachel said.

Although I actually never read the comments in question, so I guess I can't really offer an opinon.
